Likoni MP Mishi Mboko has invited President Uhuru Kenyatta to Raila Odinga’s planned swearing-in as the people’s president.
Speaking in Likoni on Thursday, the ODM MP asked Uhuru to come and witness as Raila is inaugurated as the people’s president.
She said that the former Prime Minister might not have the military or state apparatus to the government but he has the power of the people behind him.
“We are happy that our leader Raila Amollo Odinga will be taking oath as the people’s president and we ask Uhuru and his allies to attend and witness the great event,” she said.
Mboko said that Raila swearing-in will be the start of a reformed country that respects the rule of law and the wish of the people.
The vocal ODM MP said that Raila’s swearing-in will end electoral justice and marginalization that has been allegedly perpetrated by the Jubilee regime.
Mboko asked NASA supporters not to lose hope and support their leader ahead of the big event.
NASA plans to swear in Raila and Kalonzo on January 30 at Uhuru Park.
The opposition has maintained that it does not recognize Uhuru Kenyatta as president and it will swear in Raila using the August 8 presidential election results that it claims it won with over one million votes.
NASA has arranged a series of rallies in readiness for the swearing in what the government has termed illegal and treasonous.
