Budalangi Member of Parliament Raphael Wanjala on Monday issued a warning to Foreign Affairs Chief Adminstrative Secretary Ababu Namwamba moments after being freed on a Sh400,000 bond.
Speaking after being freed, Wanjala warned his political rival Namwamba, who is also the former Budalangi MP not to attend or try to interrupt his meeting again claiming he will handle him himself physically.
"Ababu Namwamba has declared war himself. From today let him not attempt to come into my meeting or interrupt my activities again because he will receive strokes,” said Wanjala in Luhya language.
Wanjala was arrested in Kisumu on Saturday evening for allegations of threatening the safety of the helicopter carrying Ababu Namwamba and other people on board at Sigiri Bridge.
He was arrested together with 11 otherpeople from the constituency.
On Friday, Namwamba was on duty to inspect the construction of the bridge where his supporters collided with those of Wanjala leading to a confrontation between the two groups.
According to Wanjala, it was his efforts that led to the revival and the construction of Sigiri Bridge after it collapsed in the year 2017 following shoddy work from Namwamba and Chinese constructors.
On his side, Namwamba told the current MP he had nothing to rival him adding that he won’t even challenge him for the parliamentary seat in 2022.
