Trouble is continuing to brew in NASA amid sharp divisions over the names that have been floated to take over critical leadership positions in both the Senate and the National Assembly with a Coast MP now tabling a fresh demand to the Raila Odinga-led coalition.Raila on Monday confirmed that only the appointment of Suba South MP John Mbadi as the Minority leader in the National Assembly and that Moses Wetang'ula as Senate Minority leader had been ratified, a move that was meant to quell the wrangles within the opposition outfit. However, Kilifi North MP Owen Baya is now demanding that the Minority Whip slot should be reserved for someone from the Coast region.According to the ODM legislator who was speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, the Coast region, especially Kilifi and Mombasa Counties, have more NASA MPs in the National Assembly and that as such the Minority Whip position should be given to the region."We feel that the Leader of Minority should have come from the Coast. Now that the position has been given to someone else, at least let the Minority Whip should be selected from the region. We have many members who went to Parliament on a NASA ticket," said the lawmaker. In the 11th Parliament, former Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro was the Minority Whip in the National Assembly. However, after a fallout with Raila, his position was taken over by the then Wundanyi MP Thomas Mwadeghu.
