Suba MP-elect John Mbadi has said that his Garissa counterpart Aden Duale deserves a second term as Majority Leader in the incoming 12th Parliament.

Duale served as Majority Leader of the National Assembly during the 11th Parliament.

Mbadi, speaking on Citizen TV's Opinion Court program on Thursday, noted that Duale was 'passionate about his work and understood his role very well'.

"I do not think that there is anybody who can fit in Duale's shoes currently from Jubilee. He has earned his role. He was passionate about pushing the agenda of his party and he understood legislation agenda very well. Being a Jubilee loyalist, I think he remains the party's best choice for the job," said Mbadi.

The MP, however, noted that Duale needs to understand that the Leader of Majority is a constitutional office and must, therefore, 'carry himself with decorum'.

"When Duale comes out to speak whether in the house or outside, people need to see a leader that is humble and one who portrays serious leadership. I think that is where he needs to work on a bit," he added.
