Weeks after President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga agreed to work together, Rongo Member of Parliament Hon. Paul Abuor has accused Wiper Party, Ford Kenya and ANC of betrayal.
According to the MP, the MoU between the leading parties in NASA; ODM, Wiper, Ford Kenya and ANC parties ahead the 2017 general elections ended when the three NASA co-principals skipped the swearing in event of of Raila Odinga.
“When we attended the ‘swearing-in’ on January 30, we told Raila Amolo Odinga that anybody who did not show up on that day like Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula… any agreement with them ended then. Let them not pester us. And come 2022, Raila will again go back to the ballot alone and not with them,” said the MP.
He further defended the move by ODM MPs to oust Wetangula as the Senate minority speaker, saying they agreed that as a party.
“The reason we have decided to take action against Senator Wetangula is because once Raila has given directions to be followed, instead of towing the line, he still wants to question and bring a lot of politics into it,” he added.
The air in the opposition NASA coalition has been toxic in the recent past, especially after Raila Odinga met President Kenyatta.
