Speaking on Radio Jambo Wednesday, the Orange party lawmaker said that the continuation of the ongoing good relationship between opposition leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta will depend on how the government addresses the graft issue.

Coming at a time when the leaders have since vowed to jointly spearhead the campaign, Nyikal pointed out that ODM will not hesitate to protest, as was the case before, should Jubilee fail to perform.

"Thanks to the handshake, there are no more protests and conflicts between the government and opposition. However, we will not hesitate to protest should Jubilee fail to realize its promise to successfully combat corruption," he said.

He also called for the halt of politicking, urging all politicians and Kenyans to fully concentrate on the nation's well being, specifically the realization of the goals set between Odinga and Kenyatta before their truce.

Nyikal stated that ODM will not allow politicians to use the calmness to campaign for their 2022 bids.

"We will also not allow people to use the prevailing political calmness to campaign for their 2022 candidatures," he added.

This comes at a time when Odinga has remained largely mum on the most recent scandal revelations, as opposed to initially when he was personally involved in exposing and condemning the same.
