Former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has been called upon to account for projects under the National Constituencies Development Fund in his constituency or risk jail term.
Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo has raised the alarm stating that projects initiated by Midiwo do not exist.
Speaking in Siaya on Thursday, Odhiambo pointed out all Akala Township projects have stalled yet they were funded.
“We are informed on September 18 the contractor, Rouzhene Investment, tried to deliver some materials at Akala after learning that we are following up the matter,” Odhiambo said.
He also noted that Gotfo women’s group where he claimed Sh5 million meant for table banking was misused.
The lawmaker pointed a finger at the group’s officials Roselyn Okoko (chairperson), Katura Odondo (treasurer), Eunice Apombe (secretary) and Ambrose Rieni of irregular spending.
Midiwo is yet to comment on the matter.
