Narok county Senator Ledama ole Kina on Tuesday argued that there is no time to disband the electoral commission as currently constituted and asked his Nasa coalition colleagues to let the poll body oversee the fresh elections.
" I don't think we have the time to disband this body as currently constituted. Doing away with it will mean that the president has to appoint the new chairman and he does not have the constitutional obligation at the moment", he told Citizen TV.
Nasa has been calling for the removal of the Iebc commissioner accusing them of bungling the August 8 polls which were later nullified by the Supreme Court.
According to the court, the commission did not follow the laid down procedures in conducting the elections hence resulting in a process that was flawed.
