The MP has accused the speaker of contravening court orders by denying him access to Parliament.

In a petition filed by his lawyer Anthony Oluoch, the legislature said the speaker's move undermines the authority of the court.

On June 5, High Court Judge George Odunga overruled Muturi's directive of barring the MP from accessing Parliament, in a bid to allow him to discharge his constitutional duty of representing his constituents.

The speaker risks being committed to civil jail for at least six months.
