Opposition leader Raila Odinga has been the kingpin of Nyanza politics and the entire country at large.

Despite commanding a huge following in the country, Odinga has never been successful in his journey to State House.

His presidential ambitions started back in 1997 where he performed poorly emerging third, heendorsed former President Mwai Kibaki for the 2002  which the latter won.

In 2007, he challenged President Kibaki but lost. Odinga claimed that his victory had been stolen. Following the announcement of the results, the  country broke into violence with hundreds of people being killed and thousands displaced.

He made two other attempts in 2013 and 2017 but lost to President Uhuru Kenyatta. Many analysts have opined that the former Premier may soon be retiring.

A new set of young leaders have recently joined the political scene with many trying to show case themselves with the aim of going up the political ladder.

If Odinga indeed retires, the new leaders will battle it out to get a successor who can in turn lead the community in searching for power.

A newly elected Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MP has emerged as a top contender to succeed Odinga and even clinch the Presidential seat should he express his interest in it.

Rraieda MP Otiende Amollo is a dearof many ashe conducts his matters in a transparent manner and always connects with his fans.

He caught the attention of Kenyans when he together with other lawyers succesfully petitioned the Supreme Court to annul President Kenyatta's re-election in August last year.

He always publicly defends Odinga and is considered one of loyal members of the Orange Party.

Most Kenyans love Otiende because of his sharp legal mind and the ability to openly critique the government.

Being new to politics and already commanding a huge clout, Otiende will be a force to reckon with if he decides to contest for the top seat.

I strongly believe that he can be the first Luo President for the Republic of Kenya.
