Likoni MP Mishi Mboko has warned police offices against harassing or intimidating NASA supporters who will turn out for peaceful protests on Thursday.Mboko instead asked the officers to give their supporters protection.Speaking to journalists in Likoni Town on Tuesday, Mboko said that the constitution gives Kenyans a right to peaceful picketing.She said NASA supporters have been peaceful all long, adding that police are to blame for the violence that has been witnessed during NASA’s anti-IEBC protests.“We are telling acting Interior CS Fred Mataing’i to give us proper security during the peaceful protests set for Thursday as advised by our leader Raila Odinga,” said Mboko.Mboko warned the police against being used by the government to settle political scores.She said NASA is committed to peace and rubbished claims that the opposition is planning to cause violence.“We have been peaceful and we will continue to agitate for peace even as we push our agenda forward,” she added.Mboko asked Likoni residents to keep off polling stations saying they should not vote in an election whose results are allegedly predetermined.The MP hit out at IEBC alleging the commission has never been keen to deliver a credible election.
