They lamented why police arrested and prosecuted Laikipia North MP Mathew Lempurkel alone, leaving behind Korere, despite both of them engaging in a physical fight outside Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Joseph Ole Nkaissery's offices at Harambee House.

Led by Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi, Kajiado Central's Elijah Memusi and their Suna East counterpart Junet Muhammed, the irate lawmakers accused police officers at the station of being used by top government officials to spare Korere.

"Where is the CCTV footage that shows the two leaders fought? Why would you arrest one MP and leave the other yet they all fought each other? They both committed an offense and so both should be arrested," said Junet.

"If you are afraid of doing your work, we will conduct a citizen arrest. Justice must be served even if you have received orders from above stopping you from arresting Korere," added Wandayi.

They warned of possible citizen arrest against the Jubilee nominated MP, saying justice should be served to both lawmakers.

Lempurkel was arraigned in Court same day, charged and was released on a Sh200,000 cash bail.

He was however re-arrested and questioned by the Criminal Investigations Department.
