The MPs, Timothy Bosire (Kitutu Masaba), Florence Mutua (Busia) OPiyo Wandayi (Ugunja) and Geoffrey Odanga (Matayos) want Matiang’i to resign for failing to tame arson attacks in schools.

On Wednesday, during a press briefing at Parliament Buildings, the MPs accused the Education CS of failing to act as schools go up in smoke.

The MPs further accused the Education CS of taking lightly the arson attacks that continues to be reported in some schools across the country.

“The Education CS must take responsibility of the arson cases and immediately resign for failing to act,” said Bosire.

Bosire accused the CS and the government of being reluctant to address the unrest.

“As leaders and parents we are concerned by the wave of the arson attacks in schools and we are telling the Education CS to act of immediately resigns,” said Mutua, the Busia Women Representative.

“Matiang’i has failed to manage the education sector and he should quit the ministry,” said Opiyo Wandayi, adding that failure by Matiang’i to involve stakeholders has seen the arson cases continue.

The country continues to experience cases of arson attacks where schools are allegedly being set on fire by students.
