Eight ODM legislators have cautioned President Uhuru Kenyatta over his threats to arrest their leader Raila Odinga.
In a statement on Thursday, the members of Parliament warned the Head of State against intimidating opposition leaders, terming the arrest threats on Raila as 'ridiculous', the Star has reported.
“When he is addressing us as the Jubilee presidential candidate, Uhuru must understand that he is exposed to all responses from us as his competitors,” said Opiyo Wandayi who read the statement.
“We shall not condone any more intimidation directed at the Cord leader Raila Odinga or at us as opposition leaders. It is a big joke,” added the ODM secretary for political affairs.
Speaking on Wednesday, Uhuru threatened to arrest any opposition leader spurring Kenyans to violence as the country enters the electioneering period.
The MPs included: Fred Outa (Nyando), Geoffrey Odanga (Mathayos), Oburu Oginga (nominated), Florence Mutua (Busia woman representative), Shakeel Shabbir (Kisumu East), John Kobando (Uriri), Richard Onyonka (Kitutu Chache South MP) and Dagoretti North's Simba Arati.
