The Orange Democratic Movement has accused three Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners for covering up for suspended CEO Ezra Chiloba.
According to secretary general Edwin Sifuna, the commissioners who resigned on Monday have been covering up for Chiloba.
"Why would the three commissioners not allow for the investigations to be completed prior to resigning? What do they know? What are they running from?” Sifuna questioned.
“The resignation of three commissioners ostensibly to protest the commencement of a disciplinary action against the CEO confirms our long-held fears that the rot at the IEBC goes to the very core of the organisation,” he added.
Sifuna further called for Chiloba, his two deputies Marjan Hussein Marjan and Betty Nyabuto, ICT head James Muhati and head of operations Immaculate Kassait to be fired.
Sifuna said that his party backed the suspension of Chiloba to pave way for investigations.
