The ODM National Elections Board (NEB) has slated nominations for four polling stations in Taita Taveta constituency for Wednesday.Heavy rains hampered transportation of voting materials to the four centres, thereby halting voting on Tuesday last week.NEB had initially scheduled a repeat exercise on Saturday but later rescinded the decision. The four polling centres, according to a statement from the party’s director of communications Philip Etale; are Jipe Primary School, Chala Primary School, Mahandakini Primary School and St Joseph Kivukoni Primary School.“Following decisions made by the National Appeals Tribunal of the ODM party with regard to various appeals filed by aspirants in some of the areas the party has held its primaries, the National Elections Board has ordered a repeat nominations exercise in the following areas on Wednesday April 26 2017,” said Etale on Sunday. The board had put on hold announcing the final constituency results until after the four polling stations conducted and concluded the exercise.Provisional results showed Governor John Mruttu trailing by 14,817 votes against his opponent, MP Thomas Mwadeghu’s 17,567 votes. The county boss had protested the results citing irregularities during the primaries.
