[Photo/the-star.co.ke]Taita Taveta Governor John Mruttu is not leaving anything to chance, ahead of the fresh ODM nominations in five polling stations on Saturday.Already trailing his rival Wundanyi MP Thomas Mwadeghu by over 2,500 votes in the race to bag the ODM ticket, Mruttu has camped in his Taveta backyard in a bid to swing the outcome of the nominations in his favour. As at Wednesday, the Governor had garnered 14, 817 votes against Mwadeghu's 17,557.However, the final results will be announced once the exercise in the five polling centres is concluded. With over 4,500 votes up for grabs during the Saturday exercise, Mruttu knows that nothing short of a convincing win will guarantee him the precious ODM ticket. But as the Mruttu axis eagerly awaits for the Saturday exercise, Mwadeghu is crying foul even as he casts doubt on the credibility of the figures released on Wednesday.According to the Minority Whip in parliament, his results have been altered by the polls team in favour of his rival."The results announced in Voi, Mwatate and Wundanyi have been altered. They should tell us how they came up with the figures,” said Mwadeghu as quoted by the Nation.
