A group of Opposition party ODM officials drawn from Nyanza have hatched a new scheme to stop elections from taking place in the region.

Led Darlington Mduda, who is Ugenya branch chairman,the officials vowed to marshal their supporters to ensure the boxes do not get to their destinations.

Speaking on Tuesday, Mduda observed that no election will take place in the region under their watch.

"All party leaders and delegates from Ugenya have reached a compromise to ensure our supporters do not allow IEBC boxes into polling centers," he stated.

The Opposition wing led by NASA leader Raila Odinga has also asked his supporters not to participate in the polls slated for Thursday.

The former Prime Minister withdrew from the presidential race, calling for electoral reforms before agreeing to participate.

On its part, the government through acting Interior CS Fred Matiang'i has pledged to ensure that the electoral process runs smoothly nationwide on Thursday.
