Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party deputy national treasurer Olga Karani has stated why Siaya, Homa Bay, Migori and Kisumu counties did not vote in the repeat presidential election.
According to Karani, the reasons why four counties in Nyanza did not vote due to the presence of heavy security in the areas and plan to rig the election by coming up with numbers not cast by the people.
In her view, the people only blocked roads after they saw the presence of the police in the given areas.
"There are two reasons why people did not vote in these four counties in Nyanza. One is the presence of heavy police presence in the are and two is the feeling that votes will be altered from the original votes cast. In fact, roads were only blocked after the people saw police in these counties," reiterated Karani.
Karani further called on IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati be taken to court for lying to Kenyans.
She alleged Chebukati has been pretending all along about problems at the commission yet he was planning to hold the election for the Jubilee party.
"Chebukati should be taken to court for lying to Kenyans. He cited challenges at IEBC to show how he was under pressure only for him to hold an election for the Jubilee party," added Karani.
She made her remarks on NTV on Monday evening where she affirmed that she will not recognize President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta as her president.
