Nakuru County ODM chairman Dennis Okomol has joined the growing list of aspirants for the Nakuru West parliamentary seat in 2017.
Okomol said he has served the party as an official and time was ripe for him to join elective politics as he seeks to represent the people of Nakuru West as their MP.
Speaking during an interview in Nakuru town on Monday, Okomol said he has what it takes to be the MP for Nakuru West come next year.
“I have served ODM party as an official for long and now I feel it’s time for me to represent the people of Nakuru town West in Parliament and I believe the people of Nakuru West will give me the opportunity of representing them in Parliament,” said Okomol.
“If I have been able to lead the party and articulate its interests then I also believe I have what it takes to represent the people of Nakuru West in Parliament,” he added.
Okomol added that the party will not have any favourite candidate saying all aspirants are equal and warned those planning to use the name of the party leader (Raila Odinga) as a ladder of being elected that they will face a tough time.
