An Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party official has quit the party.
Amos Ledaa Olempaka, who was the Secretary in-charge of Humanitarian and Disaster Affairs in ODM’s National Executive Committee (NEC), resigned on Wednesday through a letter.
“I have reached this conclusion due to the fact that I felt my personal and community’s steady and unwavering support to the party has not been appreciated since 2007. The promises made to me and the community have never been fulfilled,” lamented Olempaka in his resignation letter.
Ole Mpaka has been the face of ODM in Baringo where Jubilee enjoys massive support.
He has, however, been a key figure who ensured ODM leader Raila Odinga garnered several thousands of votes in the area.
In the letter, it emerged Ole Mpaka had been promised nomination by the ODM party after he lost in the August elections where he run as MP on an ODM ticket in Baringo South.
“The recent EALA nomination is a good indication of being unfairly and rudely ignored. This step I am taking is in solidarity with my supporters and community members who have advised me to protest on their behalf,” he added.
Sources with the Opposition have hinted that the nominations to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA ) has left several members disgruntled.
