An ODM party official from Kisii has warned the party against issuing direct party nominations to aspirants.
He said the act will discredit the Orange party.
"The party should desist from favouring anybody by giving them direct nominations because this will taint its image,” Josiah Maaga who is ODM Bomachoge-Borabu chairman said.
"I took the opportunity to encourage people from the constituency to obtain IDs to enable them get voter’s cards after I realised many lacked the important documents." he said.
His sentiments come at a time the Orange party is receiving calls from members to conduct free and fair party nominations.
In December 2016, Kisumu governor Jack Ranguma told ODM party leader Raila Odinga to ensure the party primaries are free and fair.
He said issuing direct nominations will make party members disgruntled.
A section of ODM governors say they should be given direct nomination.
