The ODM Nakuru County branch has vowed that they will retain the Nakuru West parliamentary seat in the 2017 general election.
Through its branch secretary general Hilton Abiola, the party said the Nakuru Town West seat is their stronghold and that the party will not let Jubilee take it.
Speaking in Nakuru town, Abiola said they are not scared of Jubilee in Nakuru Town West, adding and they are ready to battle it out to retain the seat in 2017.
He added that ODM has what it takes to win the seat saying it will be an easy race.
“I can tell you we are not worried because Nakuru West is our zone and we are pretty sure that we will retain the seat so easily and we will not allow Jubilee to run away with it because it is ours,” said Abiola.
Abiola said ODM has become stronger even after the area MP Samuel Arama decamped to the Jubilee coalition adding that the number of aspirants who have shown interest in the party’s ticket is a sure proof of the party's popularity.
“So far we have over 10 candidates seeking the ODM ticket for the Nakuru West seat in 2017 and that can only show you how popular the party is and with that there is no way Jubilee can take the seat,” he said.
