Government Spokesman Eric Kiraithe has ordered the Orange Democratic Movement to pay a sum of Sh750, 000 to the owner of the vehicle burnt on Sunday during a rally in Mathare, Nairobi County.

Kiraithe said on Tuesday that the owner of the pick-up vehicle is 46-year-old Duncan Karega.

“Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery has ordered the immediate arrest of those captured on camera to have allegedly burned the vehicle,” he said.

Kiraithe said the government was looking for the people behind the destruction of the car.

It is alleged that ODM supporters set the car ablaze, before police officers dispersed them using teargas.
