Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka said ODM should respect other parties that have played a major role to keep the opposition outfit strong in the country's politics.

The Ford Kenya MP said it is shameful for greedy ODM party politicians to declare that they will replace Wetangula who is the minority leader in the Senate with Siaya Senator James Orengo.

"It is bad that ODM party has started blackmailing and intimidating other parties after Raila met President Uhuru Kenyatta. We are aware of the bad plans because ODM party wants to take advantage now that they have Jubilee support in the Senate to vote out Wetangula. This is unacceptable and we will not allow it to happen," said Onyonka.

The lawmaker said his former party leader Raila Odinga should retire from active politics and leave young politicians to run the affairs of the ODM party.

"ODM party has proved to be undemocratic and this is the reason why I left the party for Ford Kenya. Raila is tired of politics and I am appealing to him to quit politics since he has attained retirement age as stipulated in the Constitution. Let him give opportunities to young politicians," he said.

This comes after ODM party wrote to the Senate Speaker informing him that they want Moses Wetangula removed from his minority leader position and be replaced with Siaya Senator James Orengo.
