The ODM party has finally broken the silence and directed Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba to resume his duties or face disciplinary action as he has not formally communicated his exit.
The decision was unanimously reached at by the central committee of the party at the party headquarters on Thursday.
Following his absence from crucial party activities the central committee settled on nominated senator Agnes Zani to take up the position in an acting capacity.
The party has nevertheless expressed its disappointment over what they termed as a deliberate move by the jubilee administration to sabotage the ongoing IEBC talks by conducting parallel activities.
The party has since threatened to resume their countrywide street protests should the chairman of the justice and legal affairs committee chairman Samuel Jepkonga not suspend his deliberations.
They have also called on the speaker of the national assembly to obey a court order directing that Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi be allowed to attend parliamentary sessions.
ODM is set to hold its party primaries in February 2017 and has since called on the current party officials to vacate their various offices before December 31st 2016.
Following the disbandment of the national election board of the party, a new 5 member board has been appointed to oversee the party elections and nominations.
