Nyanza Presidential Campaign team for Opposition coalition NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga has cautioned ODM Party grassroot officials against drumming up support for independent candidates ahead of the August polls.
Led by Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga and Nominated MP Oburu Odinga, the team warned that those who fail to tow the line will be replaced.
“Right now we can thump our chests as a party to advocate for six-piece voting pattern. The same should go to party officials who automatically risk losing their positions by supporting independent candidates,” Oburu stated.
On her part, Wanga urged the officials to campaign for ODM candidates to ensure that the outfit wins substantial numbers in the Senate, National Assembly and the County assemblies.
"Those supporting independent candidates should be sent packing. We need to support ODM party six-piece mantra,” she said.
The lawmakers made the remarks earlier in the week.
