Below is compiled report by the ODM Elections Board has, over party primaries that kicked off April 13.

''For the past few days, the National Elections Board has been receiving results from the Returning Officers from the Counties where party primaries have been held.

The exercise kicked off on Thursday 13th April 2017 in the Counties of Bungoma, Busia and Machakos. Followed by Kakamega, Samburu, Narok and Turkana Counties. In all these Counties, the turnout was averaged at about 42% of registered voters.

The voting process was above board and credible. Where irregularities were noted in isolated cases, below the 10% mark, ODM Election Board took action to remedy the challenges.

The technical hitches that include late kick offs, insufficient ballot papers because of high turnout and mischief by aspirants have been addressed with urgency and measures taken to avoid repeat of the same.

The Board has reviewed the reports and is satisfied that indeed there was a problem in Khwisero Constituency in Kakamega County and Butali/Chegulo Ward in Malava Constituency. In light of evidence presented the Board has nullified the results of the position of the Member of Parliament candidate for Khwisero Constituency and ordered fresh nominations for the same seat on Thursday 20th April 2017.

Subsequently, the results of the MCA candidate for Butali/Chegulo Ward have also been nullified and a repeat nomination exercise ordered for Thursday 20th April 2017. The same applies to Butsotso East Constituency where a repeat of the exercise has been ordered for Thursday 20th April 2017.

In Matungu Constituency, the exercise was called off due to anomalies Witt the ballot papers. The Board made the decision to have the exercise stopped and directed that it be repeated on Thursday 20th April 2017.

On Kilgoris Constituency nominations, the Board has received reports of electoral malpractices committed by one of the aspirants who was arrested and charges preferred against him. The Board has made the decision to cancel the result and will give direction in the cause of the day.

The results for Busia gubernatorial nominations were also nullified after cases of massive irregularities were reported. The Board ordered a repeat of the nominations for the Busia Governor’s position for Tuesday 25th April 2017.

Thank you and God Bless Kenya.
