Garissa Town MP Aden Duale sensationally claims that opposition leader Raila Odinga is planning to have President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto locked at the International Criminal Court (ICC) before 2017 elections.

The two had their cases withdrawn from the court last year on grounds that prosecution lacked sufficient evidence.

Odinga and a section of opposition leaders on Tuesday dismissed calls to have the country withdrawal from the Rome Statute that was fundamental in the creation of the court.

“Raila Odinga and his cheap politics want the President and his Deputy locked before 2017 polls. He tried that in 2013 and failed terribly. He must know that we are not children,” he said.

“We finished the issues of ICC but he keeps on revisiting them because he has nothing new to tell Kenyans. We are aware of his ill plans and he must get prepared for a tough political battle,” added Duale.

Duale and a section of Jubilee MPs were responding to opposition’s stand that Kenya should not pull out of ICC after President Kenyatta maintained that he was less interested with the court.
