The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is set to re-brand its leadership in Nakuru County to revamp and strengthen itself ahead of 2017 general election,
County assembly minority leader Daniel Ambale said the party is keen to strengthen and broaden support of its presidential candidate in 2017.
“We are mapping up to strengthen the opposition, especially at the county assembly. The party will also launch membership recruitment campaigns to coagulate its support,” said Ambale.
The minority leader yesterday told Hivisasa.com that the party will hold branch elections in 2016 but revealed that county party leadership was currently involved in strengthening grassroots structures.
The ODM elected MCA for Kaptembwa ward further said that the party was targeting more county assembly seats to solidify its base in the cosmopolitan county.
“The party plans competitive recruitment of a branch chairman and other party officials. The seats will be filled mainly by energetic young people who will drum support for the presidential candidate in 2017,” he said.
He added: ’’We want to create a whole new outfit with young, brilliant and exciting people to drive party agenda."
He revealed that the fresh ODM leaders will hold a retreat early next year where they will decide when to start massive membership recruitment together with a series of rallies and meetings across the county.
