An Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) parliamentary aspirant for Kisumu Town East has Claimed tha he was poisoned during a political rally.
Gor Sungu a former area lawmaker on Saturday said that during a campaign rally, he inhaled a suspicious chemical which made him sick.
“Last week as I campaigned in Kolwa, my supporters and I inhaled some suspicious chemicals and 10 of them were taken ill including myself. Today, my situation is worse,” stated Sungu.
He alleged that he has information that one of his competitors for the parliamentary seat, was planning to assassinate him.
“My life is in danger and Kenyans should be aware of what is happening,” revealed Sungu.
He stated that he had reported the threats to Kondele Police Station.
The allegations were confirmed by Nyanza police boss Joseph Keitany.
“We will carry out investigations to ascertain the veracity of the information,” affirmed Keitany.
Gor Sungu is battling it out for the ODM ticket with the incumbent MP Shakeel Shabbir , businessman John Anditi among others.
The party’s nominations will be carried out on April 24.
