A politician who vied on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in the August 8 general election has vowed to campaign for Raila Odinga’s rival, President Uhuru Kenyatta, ahead of the repeat poll.
The politician said he was unhappy with the way Raila treated him during the elections.
Alfred Khang’ati, who vied for Bungoma governor seat and lost to Ford Kenya’s Wycliffe Wangamati, said he will popularize Uhuru’e agenda.
Khang’ati said he had a right to campaign for anyone.
"We are tired of being played by our party leader Raila Odinga and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula. All ODM aspirants in Bungoma were not assisted financially or morally by our party leaders or coalition partners in the last elections," he said on Tuesday.
He added, "We have got a life to live we can't be chained by two individuals, Wetang'ula has been favoured by NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga to run his campaigns in Bungoma County. ODM leaders here have no business being flower girls in a wedding to be conducted mid-October."
The politician was speaking after a State House meeting attended by several leaders from Western Kenya.
