National Elections Board chair Judith Pareno while addressing the press on Thursday said that despite the changes, the process will be conducted in a free and fair atmosphere.

Between two and three counties will carry out primaries during the slated period.

Primaries will begin in Bungoma, Busia and Machakos, then end in Nairobi, Garissa and Makueni on April 23.

Pareno said the one day between the nominations dates will give time for logistical support.

She said the party will not “entertain nonsense from jokers and joyriders” with ulterior motives to hurt party’s image.
