Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has postponed its scheduled primaries in five Coast counties.

In a statement sent to newsrooms, the elections board noted that they had postponed the nominations in Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Tana River and Lamu from Wednesday to Saturday, April 22.

Due to unanticipated circumstances, the National Elections Board of the ODM Party has postponed the scheduled primaries in the five Counties of Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Tana River and Lamu," read the statement in part.The election’s board chairperson Judith Pareno appealed to aspirants and members in the five Counties to be patient as it prepares for an exercise that will be satisfactory to all.The ODM National election Board says that the move was reached due to unanticipated circumstances.The party’s secretary general Agnes Zani said that the anomaly was caused by technical hitches saying that a new date will be announced.
