This is after Ford-Kenya party leader Moses Wetang'ula Saturday announced that he has cut ties with ODM which is led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Wetang'ula 'divorced' the ODM leader blaming him on his ouster as the Minority Leader in the Senate.

"I hold no grudge against him (Raila). But our journey with him ends here, am now on my own," he said during a function in Kundayi, Bungoma.

In a quick rejoinder, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna trashed the move, accusing Wetang'ula of being a 'broker' using the Luhya community for selfish gains.

"We are wishing him well in his future endeavours and his journeys. We are now clearly seeing who the real brokers are and it's good they have left," said Sifuna, as quoted by The Standard.

The official dismissed claims that Raila had been receiving massive support in Western Kenya due to Wetang'ula's influence, noting that the Luhya nation back the ODM leader out of their own will.

"He should not think that leaders should go through him in order to get Luhya votes. He should understand that Luhyas support Raila through their own will and not being influenced by a leader," said Sifuna, adding that Wetang'ula was of not much help to Raila and the opposition.
