Sunday, former Wiper Secretary General Hassan Omar surprised everyone when he joined Jubilee Party to bring to an end many weeks of speculations surrounding his next political move after ditching NASA.

However, ODM party has downplayed former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar's defection to Jubilee Party saying that the move is inconsequential which will not affect NASA's grip of the region's politics.

Speaking during an interview on NTV, ODM's Director of International Affairs, Ogla Karani, claimed that the former Senator 'failed' during his tenure as a commissioner at the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights.

"Hassan did a shoddy job in the Human Rights Commission, so I don't expect him to do anything better," said Mrs. Karani, a key official in the Raila Odinga-led party.

Regarding the impact of the petition which Omar has filed against Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, Karani said that Joho who is also the ODM deputy party leader will still win the seat even if the court nullifies his August 8 win.

"Even if we do elections 20 times, Governor Hassan Joho will always win," she said.
