Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo has revealed that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will on Friday hold a crucial meeting to chat the way forward.
Speaking on Monday in Wagai at the Gem CDF offices during the disbursement of bursaries, Odhiambo said the Raila Odinga-led party is ready to walk out of the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition.
The MP argued that the opposition coalition cannot survive in the absence of Raila and Siaya Senator James Orengo.
“If anything, the rhetoric of NASA does not hold without NASA leader Raila Odinga and Senator Orengo,” said Odhiambo, as quoted by Citizen TV.
Odhiambo further hit out NASA co-principal Moses Wetangula, saying he does not deserve to be the Senate Minority Leader.
The MP opined that Wetangula cannot be trusted with the position after failing to attend Raila’s swearing-in ceremony as the people’s president.
He argued that Orengo, who is Wetangula’s deputy in the Senate, is better placed to take over the position.
“We have no faith in Wetangula. He cannot be trusted with that position. Orengo should be the Minority Leader in the Senate,” he said.
