Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has defended President Uhuru Kenyatta's track record and rallied residents to support his re-election bid.
Speaking in Shimoni, Kwale County on Tuesday, Mvurya said the President's decision to issue title deeds to the locals is a step in the right direction for a region that has had many land issues.While accusing opposition leaders of doing nothing during their tenure in government, Mvurya who is defending his seat on a Jubilee Party ticket after ditching ODM said the President Uhuru-led regime has shown interest in uplifting the lives of Kwale residents."The opposition did nothing for Kwale but Uhuru has initiated several projects. Let us support him," he said.On his part, Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani who ditched Ford Kenya for the ruling party commended the President's decision to construct Shimoni Port which he says will create more job opportunities for the residents.President Uhuru is on a charm offensive of the Coast region that overwhelmingly voted for Raila Odinga in the 2013 elections.
