Likoni MP Masoud Mwahima has exuded confidence he will easily retain his seat during the August 8 elections despite vying on a Jubilee Party ticket.
Mwahima who has amplified his re-election campaigns ahead of the poll has asked residents to judge him based on his development record during his tenure as an area MP.While speaking in Bofu Ward, Likoni, on Tuesday, Mwahima who is seeking a third consecutive term asked residents to reject his rival, ODM candidate Mishi Mboko, arguing that the vocal Women Rep has no development record."My competitor is saying that women representatives have no CDF funds. You were given Sh83 million Affirmative Action Funds, what did you do with it?" asked Mwahima in a question that was directed at Mboko.Mwahima will battle it out with six other candidates with his main challenger being Mboko.Others in the race include his long-time rival former Heritage Minister Suleiman Shakombo who is vying on a Wiper ticket and ANC's Dan Waore who is making a second attempt having come short in 2013.
