As the clock ticks towards August 8, Kwale Women Representative Zainab Chidzuga is facing an uncertain political future in the wake of a looming political battle.

The lawmaker who is among those who engineered ODM revolt in the region will be facing an uphill task in her bid to defend her seat on a Jubilee Party ticket.Speaking during campaigns in the county, Chidzuga who is considered one of President Uhuru Kenyatta's key figures in the region asked the locals to support her re-election bid.Chidzuga said under her tenure, meaningful development has been realized in the county and that things will even be better if she wins a second term. She vowed to trounce her opponents, adding that she doesn't feel the pressure as she will easily retain her seat. While asking the locals to support President Kenyatta's re-election bid, the lawmaker said that the current regime's development record in the county is unmatched and that the county stands a chance to benefit more if the President gets fresh mandate.Chidzuga who took a swipe at the opposition NASA coalition said the Raila Odinga-led outfit is thriving on empty rhetoric which she said will not change the lives of the residents. The MP, however, faces stiff competition from ODM's Zuleikha Hassan considering that her Jubilee party doesn't enjoy huge following in the region.
