Among the issues discussed was the fate of the party's National Elections Board which was disbanded by NEC in April due to flawed grass-root elections conducted by the Board.

New Board members were appointed but its former chairperson, Judith Pareno was retained as chair.

Other members of the Board include Dr Robert Arunga, Norah Anindo, Ibrahim Rashid Ahmed and Edward Dzila Nyale.

The meeting was held at the party headquarters in Nairobi and chaired by party leader Raila Odinga.

A statement issued after the meeting said in part: "Following the disbanding of the National Elections Board by the NEC in the month of April this year, the meeting adopted a proposal by the Central Committee of the party meeting held on Tuesday this week to reconstitute a new Board to oversee party elections and nominations exercise."
