Tribulations seem to be following ODM Nominated senator Elizabeth Ongoro, after he decamped the party to the ANC.

Ongoro was blocked from vying for Nairobi's Ruaraka parliamentary seat by the ODM disciplinary committee, after she was found guilty of facilitating goons, to attack ODM Executive Officer Oduor Ong'wen.

She later joined Musalia Mudavadi's party, April 14, to vie for the same seat, against his rival incumbent MP TJ Kajwang'.

However, ODM Director of Elections Junet Mohamed has warned that Ongoro risks being barred again, from vying for the seat through ANC.

He said the Nominated lawmaker had already been registered in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) register as an ODM aspirant.

According to the Suna East MP, one can not be allowed to vie under another party, after registering as an aspirant of a different party.

This, Junet said, Friday, was against the party hopping laws, passed in 2016, at the National Assembly.

''The law is clear - once IEBC gazettes the list of aspirants and membership lists, you cannot move to any other party unless you want to run as an independent candidate. I don’t see how she will run under ANC because that is party hopping,'' said Junet.

Ongoro who was a strong supporter of ODM, was given a life membership certificate by ANC, and accused some members in ODM, of frustrating democracy.
