ODM Party means business. The party has decided to reward/award seven of its 17 governors with direct tickets ahead of party nominations.
The Governors; Hassan Joho (Mombasa, Evans Kidero (Nairobi), Wycliff Oparanya (Kakamega) Josephat Nanok (Turkana) James Ongwae (Kisii), Ahmed Abdullahi (Wajir) and Amason Kingi of Kilifi will not tussle through the nomination process, and can only wait for opponents from other parties in the August 8 elections.
Different MPs have also their work cut out, with Timothy Bosire (Kitutu Masaba), Abdikadir Aden (Balambala) Elijah Memusi and Gladys Wanga all cleared.
The party’s National Elections Board sent messages to the individuals, inviting them to pick their certificates.
“The National Elections Board has cleared you as an unopposed candidate to vie in the August 2017 Elections. Consequently, you are invited to receive your certificates on April 3, 2017,” read the message sent by Judith Pareno.
ODM is set to hold its primaries in Busia and Machakos on April 7, while kisii, Nyamira, Samburu and Trans Nzoia will be held on April 9.
On the other hand Jubilee Party is set to hold its primaries on April 21, while the Wiper Party, which is part of the Nasa Coalition, is set to hold its nominations on April 18, 2017.
