Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina now says that the move by the Orange Democratic Party (ODM), to oust Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula from his Senate Leader of Minority seat, is not in bad faith.
The ODM senator has maintained that the motion is aimed at ensuring equity among the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principals.
The Ford Kenya party leader is the only, among the 4-co-chiefs holding an elective position, with the others, ODM's Raila Odinga, Amani National Congress (ANC) boss Musalia Mudavadi and Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka falling out of the category.
According to the Ole Kina, who also rubbished claims that ODM is using the ouster motion to pick a fight with the remaining parties, the step is merely aimed at ensuring that he gives up the position to slightly equalize him with the others.
''ODM ni NASA. James Orengo now takes the mantle. Wetangula should join the other principles outside parliament,'' he tweeted Thursday.
ODM dominates the minority wing of the Senate with 20 lawmakers and on Thursday passed the motion seeking to have Wetangula's deputy and Siaya Senator James Orengo take over the post.
Wetangula has, however, stood his ground maintaining that he will not give up the position.
