Ousted Senate Minority Leader Moses Wetangula has been advised against hopes to recapture the seat.
In a tweet on Saturday, Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina said that opposition senators' decision to eject him from the seat was widely deliberated on and is, therefore, final.
Coming at a time when Wetangula's National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principals, led by Orange Democratic Party (ODM) boss Raila Odinga seem to have come to his rescue, Ole Kina maintained that no amount of intervention will convince the lawmakers to reverse the move.
''As we speak our Minority Leader is none other than Senator @orengo_james and it remains like that. And it will not change. We respect our party leader for respecting our decision,'' said the Senator.
The Bungoma Senator was on Tuesday, in a scheme engineered by ODM senators, who dominate the minority wing, dethroned over allegations of overlooking his counterparts as a result of his position in the alliance summit, with Ole Kina now calling for the move be respected.
He said that the Senate is an independent body and should be allowed to make its decisions without external influence.
''We met, we deliberated and agreed that the Senate is an independent institution and we made the decision of retaining Orengo as our elected leader,'' he added.
