Nominated Senator Godliver Otieno has reaved that she has no intention of going back to the senate because the platform does not give her the perfect opportunity to serve Kenyans.

According to Otieno, she will be vying for the Kholela Ward seat in Matungu Constituency, Kakamega because the position attracts less privileges compared to her current senator status.

Otieno in an interview with Citizen Tv said that it is God who is behind her decision to vie for the lower position

“There are those who think that I am insane, but I want to assure them that I have never been more sober. I am just obeying God’s directions,” said Otieno.

She further said that it was better and easier to serve Kenyans at the grassroots instead of being in the senate.

“I was nominated to be a Senator but now I want to grow from down up. I want to be elected right from the grassroots,” said Otieno.

The senator's move to seek a lower seat comes as a shock since many of her colleagues have declared an interest in the gubernatorial seats.
