NASA senators are set to meet this morning to seal the fate of Minority Leader Moses Wetangula, who they plan to replace with ODM’s James Orengo.
But even as senators went ahead with their plan, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has insisted that they had asked Raila Odinga to come to Wetangula’s aid.
“If anybody wants a divorce, it will be noisy, it will be messy and unhelpful and it will have causalities,” said Wetangula on Thursday in the House.
The situation is set to be decided on Tuesday at 9 am, when the NASA senators meet at the Senate lounge to seal his fate.
The meeting was scheduled to take place on Monday, but failed to kickoff as there was no quorum. After the decision, the minutes will be presented to the Senate Speaker, who will affect the changes.
The plan to oust Wetangula was hatched by 20 ODM senators last week, a move that was greatly condemned by other members of the coalition.
The opposition coalition has been having trouble keeping all members happy, and cracks emerged during the sharing of positions parliament and the senate.
This was heightened by the recent agreement between President Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga, with the other co-principals saying Odinga never informed them of the plan to meet the head of state.
