Barely a fortnight after botched ODM primaries in Nyamira County, party nominees will hold a meeting this weekend to determine the future of the Orange parry.

Already, senior party officials led by West Mugirango MP James Gesami, who lost in governorship race, have resigned and will run as independents.

A letter circulating online also shows a possible coup with a splinter group led by unknown members issuing an ultimatum to Orange House to declare all seats vacant adding that sitting officials are ruining the party, a claim which Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has since dismissed.

“Ignore the fake letter because all is well. The party is intact despite differences that emanated from nominations,” Bosire said.

But Rigoma ward aspirant and former journalist Nyambega Gisesa said the bonding meeting will restore unity within the party.

“We are intending to have a meeting on Friday or Saturday and we expect all aspirants to attend. We must chat the way forward because we cannot afford to lose seats just because of internal wrangles,” said Gisesa.
