Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement has slated Friday, June 23 as the date for the repeat of Nyatike constituency nominations.
This follows Wednesday’s Appeal Court ruling ordering the repeat nominations in the Constituency for the position of the National Assembly Seat.
ODM’s National Elections Board has urged aspirants for the party ticket in the constituency to obey party nomination rules and observe law and order during the exercise .
“It is in the interest of the Board and the party in general that the Nyatike issue is resolved once and for all to allow the party to prepare for the campaigns in the constituency.” Read in part a statement signed by ODM’s Philip Etale.
The Board issued a stern warning against aspirant who will not demonsttate political maturity during the repeat nominations.
“…anyone who will be involved in acts of violence will be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the party constitution.”
“The NEB has merged polling stations and a list will be supplied by the Returning Officer who is already on ground.The same applies to Endebbes Constituency in TransNzoia County whose repeat polls will be held on Saturday 24th June 2017.
Polling stations will open at 6:00am and close at 5:00pm.
