The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) where ODM is an affiliate party has not yet named its presidential candidate and all the three principals - Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula-have showed interest to be flag bearers.

However, Abuya believes that Kalonzo and Wetangula will have no effect even if they withdraw their relationship with Raila.

“Sometimes if feel it’s good to be open. Ford Kenya and Wiper add no big value to the ODM because they are minorities. I think time has come for the ODM to go it alone and face Jubilee because it has a voting bloc across the country,” he said.

“Abuya added: “Raila is always seen campaigning, unlike his other two friends. In my view, it’s a waste of time to continue accommodating people who have little to bring to the table. It’s my honest view that he (Raila) goes it alone in the 2017 polls.”

The three principals have been traversing the country with the ODM through its deputy party leader Hassan Joho maintains that Raila is best suited to challenge President Uhuru Kenyatta.
